High profile investors back campaign for “living wage”

A group of investors worth £13 billion are calling for the top 100 UK companies to improve salaries and implement a "living wage". The body, which is made up of UK and US religious groups and charitable investment groups, held a rally on Monday to push the country's major organisations into raising the minimum wage for all employees. More than two and a half thousand protesters gathered in Central London at Westminster Central Hall to support the campaign which calls for companies to raise the minimum wage from £5.93 to £7.85 in London and £7.20 for the rest of the UK.
