Special edition coins created to mark 50th anniversary of Coronation Street

Coronation Street coins have been designed by the Royal Mint. Coins celebrating the anniversary of Coronation Street have been released. The Royal Mint has created a set of commemorative coins bearing the faces of popular characters in prime time soap opera Coronation Street for the first time. The six special edition coins mark the 50th anniversary of the British soap, which has been running since 1960. Five of the coins will feature five of the soap's most loved couples including Vera and Jack Duckworth, Ken and Deirdre Barlow and Bet and Alec Gilroy.
