NSPCC Business Challenge logoWe are delighted to announce that Investment Sense have won the Nottingham Post NSPCC Business Challenge.

The NSPCC Business Challenge saw 20 local companies organise a variety of events all to help raise funds for Childline in Nottingham.

Here at Investment Sense we organised a variety of networking events with the ‘Beermat Entrepreneur’ Mike Southon, 7IM’s Justin Urquhart-Stewart and former Dragons’ Den panellist Rachel Elnaugh entertaining the audience with stories and lessons from their business careers.

We were delighted to have raised over £3,500 for Childline in Nottingham and to have attracted such high profile guest speakers. They were all different, Mike talked about the Beatles and lessons business people can learn from the ‘Fab 4’, Justin (bottom right) gave his unique view on the world economy and Rachel spoke about her business rollercoaster and time on Dragons’ Den.

The events offered excellent networking opportunities with over 150 businesses from Nottingham and Derby represented.

The main purpose of the competition was to raise much needed funds for Childline, who currently do not have the financial resources to ensure that every phone call from a child is answered.

However we are of course delighted that our efforts have seen us win the challenge and raise the most amount of money from the businesses which took part.

Phillip Bray, Marketing Manager of Investment Sense said, “I’m really pleased at the amount we have raised in such a short time. It costs £4 for a call to be answered and the money we raised will go straight to helping Childline answer more calls from vulnerable children, not just here in Nottingham but nationwide.”

Phillip continued, “We plan to run more events later this year and into 2012 to help support Childline and the work that they do.”
